Position Title: Volunteer Treasurer and Trustee

Dudley Mind:a company limited by guarantee, exists to make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support.  Support for good mental health is becoming increasingly critical in the current era and during the COVID19 pandemic. 

The organisation has been in existence for over 40 years providing critical mental health services in the Black Country area in conjunction with other government and quasi-government bodies.  Dudley Mind is a member of the National Mind Federation and subject to its quality standards.  The organisation has both a professional CEO and dedicated team and a collaborative volunteer board of trustees dedicated to the success of its mission.

Role: A member of the board of trustees, the role involves oversight of the accounting function, monitoring of internal controls, preparation of an annual budget, oversight of year-end closing, cheque and payment counter signing and regular financial reporting to trustees.  The organisation employs a part-time accountant, who handles the software, ledgers and payroll.

We are looking for a qualified accountant, perhaps a retiree, or someone with experience in a senior accounting position, who can give time to this function.

The time commitment is to attend approximately 8 evening board meetings each year and to spend approximately 4 hours per month with staff on a flexible basis.  A quarterly Finance Committee is being contemplated to support the position and the outgoing Treasurer will be on hand for a good transition.  This is a great opportunity to make a significant contribution to a very worthy cause.
